National Pitching Association Training

In December 2009, former major league pitcher and pitching coach, current USC Pitching Coach and Founder of the National Pitching Association, Dr. Tom House came to Frozen Ropes along with NPA Board member Jamie Evans to conduct a 3 day pitching camp. The information and training provided represented the very latest in biomechanical research, physical and mental training and health and nutritional advice.

The Frozen Ropes Tigers Board sent all of our coaches to the Friday night symposium. House presented research and information for over 2 hours and follow that with an hour long question and answer session that will prove invaluable to the development of our coaches, teams and players. This was truly a unique opportunity for our coaches to learn from the very best in the world.

Over the next two days, Evans led approximately 40 players of all ages through an impressive instructional camp. Several Tigers pitchers, in the group that included players from as far away as Montana, received one on one instruction chock full of drill and mound work based on the NPA's research as well as intensive strength and conditioning work specific to pitching.

The Frozen Ropes Tigers want to thank the National Pitching Association, Dr. House and Mr. Evans for this great camp for Tigers players and coaches. We look forward to having the NPA back with us in 2010!

Tigers Assessment Day Recap

Saturday's Tigers Assessment Day was a huge success! 87 players participated in the 3 hour event. All players were put through a variety of physical and performance testing administered by chiropractic and rehabilitation professionals from HealthSource Chiropractic.

Dr. Dave Jones is currently in the process of assembling all the data. Comparison data and feedback will be sent out to all players' families in the next couple weeks. We hope to be able to show individual assessment relative to age within the organization as well as national averages. With this baseline data we'll be able to gear our organizational programs towards the areas we need the most improvement, track our players development as they grow from 8 years old to high school as well as identify injury factors before they become a problem. Overall organizational data will be posted on the Frozen Ropes Tigers website.

Thank you to the coaches that assisted in administering the testing and most importantly thank you to the those that attended and made this event such a big success.

Tiger Assessment Day - All Players - March 13th

We will have a chiropractor and rehabilitation professional at Frozen Ropes this Saturday, March 13th, from 9 to noon to do assessments for ALL our Tigers players.  They will perform range of motion testing, injury evaluations as well as some specific performance test (40 time, vertical, etc) that we will be able to compare to national averages for each age group.  We are looking to not just identify problems or injuries but to establish a "baseline" going forward to quantify our player’s progress.  We will be doing this evaluation every year and tracking improvement.

The Tigers organization is picking up the cost on this and it is FREE of charge to all players.  All players should attend.  The entire assessment should take no more than 20 minutes.

Please contact Coach Bishop with any questions.
