In December 2009, former major league pitcher and pitching coach, current USC Pitching Coach and Founder of the National Pitching Association, Dr. Tom House came to Frozen Ropes along with NPA Board member Jamie Evans to conduct a 3 day pitching camp. The information and training provided represented the very latest in biomechanical research, physical and mental training and health and nutritional advice.
The Frozen Ropes Tigers Board sent all of our coaches to the Friday night symposium. House presented research and information for over 2 hours and follow that with an hour long question and answer session that will prove invaluable to the development of our coaches, teams and players. This was truly a unique opportunity for our coaches to learn from the very best in the world.
Over the next two days, Evans led approximately 40 players of all ages through an impressive instructional camp. Several Tigers pitchers, in the group that included players from as far away as Montana, received one on one instruction chock full of drill and mound work based on the NPA's research as well as intensive strength and conditioning work specific to pitching.
The Frozen Ropes Tigers want to thank the National Pitching Association, Dr. House and Mr. Evans for this great camp for Tigers players and coaches. We look forward to having the NPA back with us in 2010!
